The Fibre-based Product Design research group includes investigators with a strong knowledge of textile design and engineering, including fashion tendencies, modelling, product design, marketing and branding.
Creative thinking and creative problem solving are key drivers to impart more added value to take advantage of technology driven research, thus promoting innovation and industrial competitiveness particularly for the textiles industries oriented towards fashion and high-end products.
The group is focused in the Total Design of the innovative fibre-based products integrated in marketing strategies and considering the interface product user, aiming at user’s satisfaction.
The general scientific objective of the group is to develop knowledge related to material and product design methodologies, market analysis and product communication at different levels, visual (colour patterns) and tactile.
